What is Work People?
Work People is a full service leadership development provider. Whether you need support for your team or yourself, we have a program for you. Our focus is on delivering impactful, values-based programming that supports the growth of the whole person—because, ultimately, when we talk about “work people” we’re really just talking about “people”.
What makes Work People different?
Our approach to leadership development puts a premium on intentional, slow leadership. We believe the best leaders (and thus, the best organizations) operate from a sense of humility, self-reflection, and honesty.
Our techniques are not unique. We leverage a combination of the Enneagram, change frameworks like those developed by Dr. Robert Kegan and Dr. Lisa Lahey, experiential learning, and basic coaching to help you work better together.
What we do believe is unique, or at least rare, is our commitment to keeping our values at the core and to empowering your leaders to do the same.
The origin story…
Work People came to be after I (Fred) had spent the first phase of my career working in corporate professional development.
I learned a lot, met interesting and effective facilitators and instructional designers, and got to visit corporate offices all over the world (always happy to talk about the panic attack I had in the Dubai airport!).
Finally, after supporting virtual deliveries through the first years of the pandemic and helping to launch an open-enrollment mini-MBA program, I exited my last role in the field with lots of thoughts and feelings to sort through and confusion about my career. I was completely burnt out on the idea of leadership development.
After some time away from the industry, I was able to reconnect with the reasons I was excited to be here in the first place. I love helping people figure out what they care about and how they can work with different kinds of people. I also love breaking down the “leadership guru” best seller jargon that allows people with lots of power and influence to withhold that power and influence.
I don’t believe organizations have to operate by alienating the majority of their members from their work in service of a few at the top. That’s why I started Work People. To help you achieve your goals another way.
